In The Space Between:
Rays of Hope Through Long COVID
It took four years to earn a college degree to teach high school math for twenty years, but it took only one mysterious illness to destroy my ability to count by twos. My story takes readers on my journey from testing positive for COVID in January 2021, through long COVID turning my life upside down, to finding a way to live with an unknown disease. Long COVID tore me out of my life as a concert going, traveling, Diet Coke drinking teacher, runner, mom, and wife and turned me into someone who mimics MS, Parkinson's, and stroke patients. I delve into the darkness and unbelievable reality of relearning and retraining my mind and body to function while being grateful for a new openness to accepting love and breaking a forty-year cycle of self-deprecation.
